Dr. Aden has always loved to read and her choice to study English and American literature seemed like a foregone conclusion at an early age. She has written on monsters as well as anthropological approaches to nineteenth- and twentieth-century American literature and Holocaust texts. She is the managing editor of an interdisciplinary academic journal and has years of experience copyediting and proofreading texts.
Dr. Alan
Dr. Alan graduated from an Ivy League university and holds a Ph.D. in History from The University of Chicago. He taught history, humanities and writing for over twenty years at universities in Texas and Florida, and is now teaching in Paris. He has written, edited and translated several academic books, many academic articles, and travel articles for the general public.
Dr. Amy B.
Dr. Amy B. holds a J.D. and a Ph.D. in English and creative writing, and has published fiction and poetry in a variety of literary magazines, including Shenandoah, Missouri Review, and Other Voices. Her short fiction collection is forthcoming in September 2007. Over the years, she’s taught English and creative writing classes in both public and private colleges and universities.
Dr. Amy C.
In the process of earning her Ph.D. in Social Psychology, Dr. Amy C. became enamored with technical editing in general and APA Style in particular. She has published articles in peer-reviewed psychology journals and has written numerous technical reports as a program evaluator. She currently serves as a consultant with a professional university office. In this role, she edits technical reports before they are distributed to clients working in a wide variety of academic disciplines. She truly enjoys the academic editing process, and experiences a sense of accomplishment when she can help make good ideas shine through clear, concise writing.
Dr. Andy
Dr. Andy is a widely published poet and critic. He has an MFA in Poetry and a PhD in British Romanticism and Creative Writing. He has taught at public and private high schools, community colleges, trade schools, universities and as a corporate trainer. Additionally, as the founder of an online literary magazine and small press, he is one of the most skilled book editors on our Staff.
Dr. Ann
Dr. Ann holds a Ph.D. in political science and an M.A. in Russian and East European Studies from George Washington University. She has served as managing editor of a scholarly journal devoted to the political, economic, and social issues of communist and post-communist countries for many years and has shepherded a series of books on international economic development. She has taught international relations and political sciences courses ranging from freshman 101s to graduate-level capstone classes. She also has many years experience writing articles and books to introduce current events topics to high school and college students. She enjoys the challenge of wrestling a lengthy, jargon-laden manuscript into a concise, precise publication.
Dr. Barbara
Dr. Barbara graduated from an Ivy League university and has a PhD from Howard University. She is a professor emerita at a prestigious university in the northeast. She has taught writing and edited manuscripts for over thirty years. The author of a book on language use, she has published and presented papers on her research in language and gender. Throughout the years, she has done freelance work as a copy editor and proofreader for publishers and colleagues. In addition, she has been an advisor for many doctoral dissertations on linguistics and communications.
Dr. Bill
Dr. Bill is a Ph.D. in Physiology and has conducted research and managed laboratories studying comparative endocrinology at universities all over the country. He has authored, reviewed, and edited manuscripts for publication in scholarly journals for nearly 14 years. Dr. Bill enjoys working one-one-one with students on theses preparation, oral presentations, and their first publication experience.
Dr. Blair
Dr. Blair is a professor, researcher, teacher, tutor, writer, and editor. She holds a PhD in Language, Reading, and Culture from a large research university in the Southwest, where she also serves as an Assistant Professor. She has composed and/or edited hundreds of term papers, theses, dissertations, essays, grant proposals, book chapters, white papers, reports, manuals, websites, and other types of manuscripts. She has published numerous articles in professional journals and recently co-authored a full-length textbook for teachers and library-media specialists. Dr. Blair has 25 years of experience teaching English at every grade level, from preschool to adult. She happily confesses to being one of those dorky people who loves writing and finds editing other people’s work to be extremely rewarding and downright fun!
Dr. Bob
When copy editing your manuscripts, Dr. Bob will bring with him 18 years of experience teaching college composition, grammar, and business and technical writing. Additionally, he is a veteran of the U.S. Army and has several years of experience working for the federal government and the banking industry. As a result of this experience, he is proficient at carefully considering your manuscript’s audience and purpose during the editing process to ensure your manuscript maximizes your unique “voice” and style.
Dr. Bruce
Dr. Bruce completed his dissertation on American religion and politics in 1991 and is the author of three published books. He began his editorial career at an academic press in 1984 and has fulfilled various publications-related roles since then, writing and editing for both academic and popular audiences. Dr. Bruce has worked in public policy for most of the last 20 years, including four years as a congressional aide. He also brings technical competence to his work, having taught math through calculus and having composed or edited two studies in environmental policy.
Dr. Cathy
Dr. Cathy holds a PhD in linguistics with concentrations in discourse analysis and syntax/semantics. She has served as the assistant editor of a scholarly journal devoted to literary criticism and taught college English for many years. She also has several years experience in technical writing, producing documents to guide college faculty in the use of technology for instructional purposes, especially for teaching online. Her interest in using technology for educational purposes dates back to 1993, when she first used a ListServ list for her students. Since 1996, she has developed a number of Web sites, in addition to developing or assisting with the development of dozens of online courses. Currently, she owns a business that specializes in developing learning software.
Dr. Chris
Dr. Chris, after co-majoring in Entomology and Toxicology, is currently a research scientist at an internationally recognized research unit. He regularly authors, reviews and edits scientific research articles for academic journals. Dr. Chris currently serves as the Editor-in-Chief of a regional online scientific journal, and is compiling and editing chapters for a book in the American Chemical Society Symposium Series. He dabbles in short fiction, has authored a forthcoming novel from Publish America, and drives his kids crazy by correcting their grammar.
Dr. Christine
A PhD in English, Dr. Christine has taught writing in New York and Los Angeles for fifteen years. While she has published academically on subjects such as Los Angeles literature, war narratives, and alternative religion, she also writes about contemporary fiction and nonfiction for national blogs and newspapers. She is currently focused on developing digital tools for use by faculty and students.
Dr. Dan
Dr. Dan specializes in Irish literature. A scholar, translator (German<>English), and writing teacher for a dozen years at a major Ivy League university, few professional editors have his mastery over the small details that good book editing demands. He has won numerous writing and editing awards from many industry organizations.
Dr. Dan O.
Dr. Dan O. is a Ph.D. in Educational Policy with a focus on education reform in the developing world. He currently works for a non-governmental organization in Washington, DC where he manages projects in Africa and Eastern Europe, with regular travel to each. Additionally, he is currently the editor for a peer reviewed journal on education in developing countries, and spends significant amounts of time copy editing manuscripts.
Dr. Darryl
Dr. Darryl is a former professor of English and creative writing who recently left academia to write full-time. His publications include 5 articles of peer-reviewed literary criticism, 12 short stories, more than 50 newspaper book reviews, 35 commissioned online reviews and one book of fiction, named to The Globe and Mail’s Top 100 Books that year, receiving rave reviews. Dr. Darryl has presented or published literary essays in France, Germany, Iceland, India, Sweden, Canada and the US. He has worked as an editor at The Fiddlehead (Canada’s oldest literary journal), as well as Studies in Canadian Literature, and he co-founded the arts magazine QWERTY (now in its tenth year). Dr. Darryl has supervised or examined more than a dozen MA theses in creative writing. He holds a PhD in English and an MA in English and creative writing.
Dr. David
Dr. David is a conscientious wordsmith who holds a bachelor's degree in English as well as a J.D. and a legal master's degree (LL.M.) in intellectual property law. He has won prestigious writing awards for his published legal scholarship and has worked as a professional editor since 1993, including a term as a legal editor for the Law Library of Congress. His work often involves academic materials by non-native writers of English as well as legal and business-related documents. His experience has included legislation, think tank briefs, law books, test-preparation books, treatises, encyclopedias, biographies, public relations materials, advertising copy, medical periodicals, trade association publications, cookbooks, travel guides, and fiction.
Dr. Deb
Dr. Deb is a PhD in Meteorology with a background in mathematics and physics. I have been listed in the Who’s Who of American Women since 2006. Published in many peer reviewed scientific journals, I also serve as a reviewer for several journals. Currently, I’m employed as a meteorologist with a state agency and am a certified first responder.
Dr. Dennis
Dr. Dennis is a Ph.D. in Philosophy, with an M.A. in Art History from New York University's Institute of Fine Arts. As Assistant Editor for ten years for one of America's leading philosophy journals, he edited and proofread hundreds of scholarly articles and book reviews. In addition, he taught Logic, Critical Thinking, and the History of Western Philosophy for seven years to undergraduates at Emory and the State University of West Georgia. He has lectured on painting at the Metropolitan and Whitney museums, and written art criticism for a New York gallery guide and book reviews for a major metropolitan newspaper in the South. He is comfortable editing material in French, German, Italian, Spanish, Latin and even (in small doses) untransliterated Ancient Greek. He is a voracious but critical reader, and relishes the task of helping others express themselves in their written work as cogently and stylishly as they can.
Dr. Donna
Dr. Donna is a semi-retired professor of English. For years, she taught creative writing and the usual freshman composition classes (as well as upper level courses in preparing teachers and in Romantic poetry) at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, Texas. An accomplished teacher, she received the great honor of being named one of fifteen professors across the state of Texas as a Minnie Stevens Piper Professor. In addition to teaching, Dr. Donna founded and edited Windhover: A Journal of Christian Literature in 1997. She co-edited the New Texas series from 1998-2002. She has edited other professional journals and newsletters, and in 2003 she co-founded and edited Langdon Review of the Arts in Texas. In addition to editing, Dr. Donna has published short stories and essays in regional literary journals. Of all she has done, her greatest love is helping people to accomplish their goals in writing and communication.
Dr. Doug
Dr. Doug earned a BA from the University of Pennsylvania, an MA from Villanova University, and a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota, all in English. A former editor at a major textbook publisher, he is also a graduate of Harvard’s Radcliffe Publishing Course. He has over thirty publications—a book, essays, short stories, and reviews--to his credit. He has taught English at colleges, universities, and community colleges for over a decade. Trained as a fiction writer at the Clarion Science Fiction Writers’ Workshop, he specializes in alternate history and time travel.
Dr. Dwight
Dr. Dwight is an Associate Professor of English and Mass Communication. He has taught English Composition for eighteen years. His approach enables students to write clearly, effectively and insightfully using an improved voice. His teaching expertise received acknowledgment in 2001 and 2004 when he was recognized as one of America's Best Teachers by Who's Who. While serving as the editor of the Journal of Academic Affairs, he edited dozens of faculty articles and interviews. As a Senior Thesis Advisor, he has guided and edited hundreds of thesis submissions. These experiences allow him to work closely with writers to bring accuracy and polish to a developing piece. Exercising his creative energies, he has published numerous poems. In 2002, he received the Poet's Merit Award from the International Society of Poetry.
Dr. Donna N.
Dr. Donna N. taught university composition, literature, business, technical, and creative writing courses for 14 years, then worked as a director of publications for an education research organization for another decade. Currently, she is working from home as a freelance writer/editor, while she raises her two young children (one under two!). She holds a PhD in English and has published in the areas of writing, literature, and education. An aficionado of fiction, she enjoys reinventing herself and her life.
Dr. Edward
Professor Edward is a former journalist and practicing freelancer who retired from college teaching after 44 years as a member of the Department of Humanities at two major Western universities, one major Southeastern university, and a large two-year college in the Southeast. He believes that writing should be clear, complete, concise, and correct, making reading easier, more understandable, pleasurable, and useful. He is dedicated to helping you achieve those results.
Dr. Ellis
Dr. Ellis is a British qualified medical doctor now working in hematology in Munich. He is a member of the Royal College of Physicians as well as having a first class honours degree in Pathology and being trained in Internal Medicine. He also teaches medical English to German medical students. He loves to write, read and pick holes in other people’s English, particularly in scientific papers. He is currently working on improving his German, writing a book (more later) and training for the Zurich marathon.
Dr. Ferdinand
Dr. Ferdinand is a Ph.D. in Linguistics and holds M.A. degrees in Russian and Computational Linguistics. He is fluent in five languages—Dutch, English, Russian, German, and French—and has published two academic books and several peer-reviewed papers. He has taught linguistics at various universities in the United States and Europe and has worked with Native Communities in the US and Central America.
Dr. Glenn
Dr. Glenn is a PhD in Business Administration. He also graduated from Southampton University in the UK with an M.Phil degree in Management Information Systems and an M.Sc in Computer Science from Century University in the USA. He recently completed an Executive Leadership course from Cornell University. Glenn is an accomplished freelance academic researcher and writer. Glenn has specific expertise in Information Technology and is a Chartered Fellow of the British Computer Society and a Certified IT Professional in Canada. He has gained over 25 years international business experience working as a CMC for a large number of international clients. He is now focusing his career on his academic interests in research and writing.
Dr. Gordon
Dr. Gordon holds a PhD in Theology and an MA in Philosophy of Religion from London University. He also holds a BSc in Physics. His editing work encompasses books, articles and theses in a variety of subjects. He is familiar with both American and British English. He is an independent scholar, and is irritated by spelling, grammatical and punctuation errors in printed texts.
Dr. Gretchen
Dr. Gretchen is a director of a non-profit organization in Virginia and spends much of her time writing and editing grants. She also teaches cultural studies courses at a Virginia university. A Ph.D. in American Studies, she lived six years in Japan. While there, she taught at a university for four years and a high school for two years. She has traveled widely and her research focuses on cross-cultural relations, internet technologies, and the American south.
Dr. Haley
Professor Haley has been an instructor of writing, advanced writing, literature, critical thinking, world lit, women's studies and literature, and mythology for more than 30 years. Before teaching, she was a book editor at a major university press, specializing in literary manuscripts, and later a proofreader for the Maine State Legislature. Trained at Radcliffe, Harvard, and other major universities, Professor Haley has publications in literature, political science, fiction, and poetry.
Dr. Helen
Dr. Helen graduated from London University with a PhD in English literature. Since then she has combined university teaching with copy editing jobs. She has published a book on V. S. Naipaul, based on her thesis, and reviews post-colonial fiction for the Times Literary Supplement. She has published academic articles, written a travel book and produced campaign material on international development issues for the charity War on Want. Dr. Helen has edited academic papers on philosophy, history and business studies for graduate students, as well being one of the world’s most widely recognized freelance editors. She also studied in the U.S. and has taught NYU students in London, so is familiar with the American university system.
Dr. Hugh
One of our Staff’s best business editors, Dr. Hugh has 40 years' experience in teaching, writing, and editing. A six-time recipient of Who's Who Among America's Teachers, he's written and published several textbooks on expository writing. He also has over ten years' experience in composing advertising copy and technical writing. In addition, as a former elected officer of a public body, he has numerous years of service as a recording secretary.
Dr. Jane
Dr. Jane is a PhD in biochemistry, with a focus on cardiovascular and clinical pathology. With years of experience leading a team of medical editors and science editors, she also holds an M.S. in nutritional biochemistry and a B.A. in fine arts and art history. She has received awards and funding from the American Heart Association, and serves as an international mentor for that group. Dr. Jane has published many peer-reviewed research articles and book chapters, and has also written science books for teenage readers. She is currently working in the pharmaceutical industry managing the group that runs clinical trials. Dr. Jane’s greatest skill in medical editing, science editing, and technical editing is making the complex simple, a talent appreciated by many scientific authors who need to explain difficult concepts in an understandable way.
Dr. Jason
Dr. Jason, a PhD in Biology from Queen's University, is currently a faculty member at a liberal arts college in New York State where he teaches animal behavior, morphology and evolution. Dr. Jason serves as one of the medical editors and science editors of several journals in his field, has reviewed manuscripts for 18 different journals and book publishers, and has published many peer-reviewed manuscripts in leading scientific journals. Dr. Jason has consulted with both the U.S. and Canadian governments on endangered species listing decisions and has worked extensively in the natural resources field.
Dr. Jen
Dr. Jen worked as one of the technical editors for a major publisher before moving on to an interest in American literature and academic editing. She holds a doctorate in English literature and teaches at a teachers’ college in Israel where many of the students are not native speakers of English. Consequently, in her ESL editing she has had a lot of practice helping writers polish their grammar and word choice. She enjoys the challenge of editing a text so that it reflects what the writer really means to say.
Dr. Joe
Dr. Joe has a very diverse background in multiple medical and scientific disciplines. He holds his Bachelor's of Science in Health Science and his Master's degree in physical therapy. After working in the clinical field for 3 years, he returned to school to pursue his doctorate in the interdisciplinary field of biomechanics. He has collaborated with successful senior investigators in the fields of Mechanical Engineering, Rehabilitation, Physiology and Biology. Dr. Joe is the first author on eleven manuscripts that are published or are under review at peer-reviewed journals. He has presented the findings of his research at national and international meetings and currently serves as a reviewer for various peer-review journals. A member of the American Medical Writer's Association, he’s an experienced editor of scientific documents and works well with people who are not native English speakers.
Dr. Joyce
Educator, author and editor, Dr. Joyce is the lead instructor for a stand-alone service-learning program at a Tennessee university. She has written professionally for over twenty years. In addition, she performs book editing and proofreading for a publishing firm in Northern California. She holds a Masters degree in English and a doctorate in Educational Leadership.
Dr. Julia
Dr. Julia is a PhD in English Literature and has been teaching university courses in English, rhetoric, and mass media for twenty years. Her writing credits include a grammar book, a decade of writing for a NYT-owned news and entertainment Website, multiple academic and critical articles, and creative writing. Dr. Justin
Dr. Justin, a college professor with 24 years of teaching experience, is a Ph.D. in Communications. Dr. Karin
Dr. Karin is a former Biology teacher who enjoys medical editing. She holds a Ph.D. in Genetics, and has significant experience in content editing and writing for a major textbook publisher. In addition, she has spent untold hours working with students to perfect their papers and assignments. She loves to read (especially science fiction/fantasy), and is annoyed by grammatical errors in print. Her goal is to ensure your intent and style is clearly portrayed in your written work, while being "picky, picky!" about preventing grammatical, typographical, or other errors.
Dr. Kate
Dr. Kate holds a Ph.D. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. She has over ten years of research experience in tropical and temperate field biology, molecular genetics, mammal and avian physiology, and evolutionary biology. She has been published in leading peer-reviewed journals and has written and received many research grants. She has extensive experience editing dissertations and manuscripts in the sciences. In addition to research, Kate has taught for many years at a major university and has helped hundreds of students learn to write scientific papers. She finds great satisfaction in helping writers to organize, clarify, and find pride in their work.
Dr. Larry
After graduating from an Ivy League college and then from a major New England law school, Dr. Larry practiced mostly criminal trial law for over 30 years, during which time he also taught legal subjects at several colleges and universities, either in the classroom or online. A compulsive writer, he has seen one of his published essays adapted to the stage in Manhattan, where it lasted three weeks! His passions include the entire Sherlock Holmes canon and the works of Gilbert & Sullivan.
Dr. Lisa
Dr. Lisa is a writer and educator. She has practiced both scientific editing and business editing. She is a Ph.D. in Psychology, with an M.A. in English Literature. For seven years she worked as the Assistant Director of a Management Communication Program at a business school. She edited academic articles and speeches for business school professors and graduate students. She also taught media interview skills and presentations to MBAs and executives. At the same time, she consulted for nearby businesses such as Trammel Crow, Kaiser Permanente and Collagen Corporation. She has written award winning health-promotion grants at the local and state levels. A dedicated manuscript editor who doesn't mind re-working the text, she cares about the voice and tone of a piece, as well as its content.
Dr. Loyd
Dr. Loyd is a PhD in History, who minored in English. He has written three books and co-authored a fourth, and has edited several other books, as well as a great number of articles and academic papers. A member of Western Writers of America, he loves both fiction and nonfiction writing and editing. He has spent twenty-three years teaching, the last twenty of that at the university level. His interests center on history and military matters, not a surprising combination considering the fact that he is a retired commander in the United States Naval Reserve. For the past dozen years, he has taught a course in graduate research and writing. When he edits a piece of writing, he tries not only to improve the writing, but also to help the writer develop greater skill.
Dr. Marc
Dr. Marc studied at several of the finest universities in Canada and holds a Ph.D. in Biology from McMaster University. He obtained unusually broad training in molecular biology, genetics and biochemistry, having completed postgraduate work in both plant biotechnology and biomedicine. Having published in top-tier journals, he has an excellent track record in securing fellowships and grants. With his 15 years of experience in academic writing, he will help make sure your project is flawless – logical, elegant, and a pleasure to read. With extensive experience in editing scientific journal articles and proposals, he is also interested in multidisciplinary work such as science policy and bioethics.
Dr. Marcelle
Dr. Marcelle is a Ph.D. in English. She’s taught a wide variety of English courses and has worked as a medical transcriptionist, specializing in orthopedics. Currently, she teaches writing at a major university in the Southeast where she also serves as a technical writing consultant in the School of Mechanical Engineering. She also founded and edited an online literary magazine, and has published short stories, essays and scholarly articles.
Dr. Margaret
Dr. Margaret holds a Ph.D. and two master’s degrees in Humanities as well as a B.A. in English. Over the last 25 years, she has worked as a writer and editor at a major publishing house, an applied research center at a large university, and a university admissions office. With expertise in both academic and technical writing, she brings a wealth of experience as well as a sharp eye to the editorial process. She is currently a Humanities professor and a writing tutor.
Dr. Maria Elena
Dr. Maria Elena is one of the very best freelance editors on our Staff. She was an editor for a nationally-recognized educational publishing company and has taught composition and creative writing at the university level for eleven years. A Ph.D. in literature from the University of California Santa Cruz and an M.F.A. in poetry from the University of Michigan, she has published poems and critical writing on contemporary poetry and fiction. In her years as a composition teacher, she has found the greatest satisfaction in helping individual writers to articulate complex and subtle ideas in lucid, elegant prose. Her wide-ranging teaching and research interests include U.S. literature (especially nineteenth and twentieth century), poetry and poetics, literary theory, U.S. history, Latin American literatures, Cultural Studies, popular cultures, the history of science, autobiography, and politics and political theory.
Dr. Marianne
Dr. Marianne has a Ph.D. in New Testament and Early Christian Origins from Vanderbilt University. She has published a book, several articles, and book reviews. Dr. Marianne has many years of experience as a professional editor, most recently at Abingdon Press, where she worked with dozens of authors to polish manuscripts for publication in the five-volume New Interpreter’s Dictionary of the Bible and other reference works. Before working at Abingdon, she was an associate editor for the Feminist Companion to the New Testament commentary series published by Sheffield Academic Press/Continuum. A professor of New Testament at a major university, Dr. Marianne enjoys coaching her students to write clearly and well.
Dr. Michael
Dr. Michael is a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and the leader of a team of technical editors at his corporation. Having published numerous articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals, Dr. Mike has worked with many students to ensure they are able to clearly present scientific information in written and oral formats. When performing his scientific editing duties, he works to convey all ideas in the simplest of terms to ensure that interested readers can understand the material.
Dr. Philip
Dr. Philip is the author of ten books and over 100 scholarly articles. He has worked and taught in Israel, Switzerland, and New Zealand. He is presently an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Auckland, though he lives in the US. Since he was a wee tyke, he has had a fascination with words, and enjoys the thrill of getting something “right.” He has supervised over sixty Masters and PhD theses. His specialist areas are religion, counseling, psychology and psychotherapy, Pacific studies, and gender studies, though he also reads widely in sociology and anthropology.
Dr. Rachel
Dr. Rachel is a PhD in British literature and dance. She has been teaching literature and composition at the university level for several years and currently works as a freelance writer, editor, and teacher. Her publications include peer-reviewed academic articles and work on popular culture, and her research interests extend widely across the arts and humanities. She loves helping people become better writers and more enthusiastic readers.
Dr. Randall
Dr. Randall’s academic training was primarily in chemistry and physics. He earned his PhD in applied science from a large university in the Southeast. Over the past two decades, he has worked as an editor and writer for clients in government and private industry. He has prepared curriculum materials for some of the leading educational publishers in the U.S., and is the author of an introduction to globalization for young readers. His freelance writing has appeared in such top-ranked publications as BusinessWeekOnline and CBSHealthWatch.
Dr. Randy
Dr. Randy holds advanced degrees from one of the oldest universities in England and from an Ivy League institution. He has taught everything from Medieval literature to Modern poetry in the English departments of an Ivy League university and a nationally-known liberal arts college. Dr. Rob
Dr. Rob earned his Ph.D. in English in the area of Rhetoric & Composition. He coordinates a writing program for college freshmen, and teaches writing on every level: developmental, freshman, advanced, graduate. He mostly teaches courses that prepare pre-service language arts teachers and graduate student composition instructors for the classroom, and also teaches literature and graduate rhetoric. He edits not just by correcting errors, but by finding the expression that best serves the document's overall purpose.
Dr. Robert
After graduating with honors from the University of Michigan, Dr. Robert received his M.A. and Ph.D. in English from Northwestern University where he specialized in nineteenth- and twentieth-century British literature. During 35 years of full-time teaching, Dr. Robert served as the chair of two departments and as the editor of an award-winning academic journal from 1989 to 2004. In addition to a book on Thomas De Quincey, he has published numerous refereed articles and is currently writing a monograph on espionage fiction. His other pursuits include fishing, kayaking, and managing a 50-acre farm.
Dr. Roger
Dr. Roger is a PhD in management, so he has extensive experience working with other business editors. In his first career, he was an experimental test pilot. Then, he spent ten years teaching and doing research at a Hong Kong university, where his most appreciated contribution was the countless hours he spent with graduate students and colleagues, translating their papers and articles into standard English. Dr. Roger’s favorite things are good books, good food, and starry nights. His least favorite things are verbosity, redundancy, and adverbs. Dr. Rudy
Dr. Rudy received his Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University and has nearly 30 years experience as a faculty member in four different clinical psychology doctoral programs that are accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA). That experience has included all sorts of writing and editing, including books (authored and edited), book chapters, journal editing, and grant writing. Recently he was president of Division 50 (Addiction) of the APA.
Dr. Sandy
Dr. Sandy loves editing almost as much as she does singing. As a former English teacher, adjunct instructor at three Midwest-area colleges and universities, and former high school principal in a suburban area, she has written and edited countless papers, theses, dissertations, proposals, short stories, poems, letters, manuals, guides, books, website text, ad copy, resumes, cover letters, and just about anything else that is done in written form. Dr. Sean
Dr. Sean specializes in molecular cell biology. He teaches graduate courses in cancer biology, and oversees a research laboratory. Dr. Tim holds a Ph.D. in neurobiology from Duke University and has published multiple articles in leading peer-reviewed scientific journals.
